  8. Click the Save button. The profile is created and you can view the profile in the Profile list on the Criteria page and on the Profiles page.

Using a separate profile (for example, the “Ad hoc Shop” profile) for all the ad hoc shopping requests will make the Request Queue page visually clear. It is also easy to trace all the shopping requests that you have submitted for ad hoc shopping. When you want to run spot shopping:

  1. Select the"ad hoc" profile from the Profiles page.
  2. Click the Submit Now button or open the profile from the Criteria page.
  3. Click the Submit button.

6. What is the difference between Save button and Save As button on the Criteria page?

Use the Save button to save the changes you've made to an existing profile. Use the Save As button to create a new profile.

7. What is the difference between viewing rates from the stored rates section and submitting a request?

The View button located in the Retrieve rates from MarketVision Database section is used to view the rates that have been already shopped for a selected set of criteria. The rates displayed are the rates that are stored in the MarketVision database. Use the Submit button to submit a selected set of criteria for ad hoc shopping.

8. Why are there no rates displayed when I click the View button in the Retrieve rates from MarketVision Database section?

If you click the View button and a blank report displays, that means that the criteria of an earlier shop do not match with the criteria that you have chosen. In this case, you must first shop for the rates by clicking the Submit button. Another reason might be that the Maximum Data Age (days) setting is too low, which causes the old rates to be filtered out of the reports. Make sure the maximum data age setting is greater than the number of days since the shop last ran.

9. How do I view the details of a report that is sent by email?

To view the rate details, log into MarketVision, and then access the report. Note: You will not be able to view the rate details directly from an email report.

  1. Click the Request Queue tab on the main menu.
  2. On the Request Queue page, select the option button corresponding to the shopping request for which you want to view the rate details.
  3. Click the Criteria button.
  4. Go to the Options section, and then select a layout for the report from the Layout list.
  5. Select the output as HTML from the Output list.
  6. Select the Enable Rate Drill Down option.
  7. Click the View button. The View page displays.
  8. Click a rate link to view the detailed information about the selected rate.

10. How do I send a report to a different email ID?

If you have already received the report by email, you can forward that email using your email client. You can also set MarketVision to send the report by email to more than one email address following these steps:

  1. Click the Request Queue tab on the main menu. The Request Queue page displays.
  2. Select the option button corresponding to the shopping request for which you want to send a report to a different email address.
  3. Click the Criteria button, and then go to the Options section.
  4. Type the required email addresses in the Email To field.
  5. Select Send Report Only from the Action list.
